My Return to Competiton Fighting ... ...
.......My family don't understand it at all, but I do it to prove to myself that I can still do it. Everybody doubts me through the injuries ive got but I thought tough -I'll work around it. Everybody thinks im a hero in the club, but I felt on sunday that I 'had' to step up to this image that they placed on me. Everyone thinks im invinsible, I have no intentions of ever letting them or myself down but I 'am 'afterall human and will be beaten - probobly this weekend the way my knee is feeling haha.
Sunday - The WKF Open:
The first fight, I had the upper hand in this - I could see it in his eyes! as the man remembered me from years ago - I think I won alone on my reputation as the man backed down, it upset me really because the guy could have done alot better than he did, I basically wiped him out - played with him, dominated him through his fear of knowledge. Every point he received I give him, said ok you have that one - but I took 2 back! I was very tired at the end of the fight, but I couldn't let him see that - that would be the same as hidding your hands behind your back and getting a beating.
After the fight, his coach and the guy still thought I was the best around, they said they'd never forget my face, I had beaten the guys coach so many times before. They couldn't beleive I had been out of fighting for 10 yrs through injuries, family and a massive club to run and still come back and win with 8 clear points.
Second fight:
I sat down after the first fight - tired, aching, sweating, panting, I checked out the next fighter id be fighting, he was 6ft tall six ft wide - he reminded me of the russian in rocky 4 , and I was the rocky duh lol. He was fighting at this time, he BATTERED the guy black and blue - nothing short of killing him.
I sat there thinking 'this is the kind of fighter I like' someone who is worthy of a challenge...
...we bowed I looked in his eyes and could see him becomming aggresive - frothing at the mouth job, I thought my experience was playing a part in this - I winked, smiled and leaned over- touched his hands, I knew then that I had broke his concentration and this startled him, he didn't know what I was thinking right from the start......
...he started off strong, as he punched - I hit him harder. Through the middle of the fight he kept looking at his coach, he was frutrated - he couldn't do nothing, I knew he was backing down, failing. It was quite obvious that this guy hadn't expereinced a beating many times before. From then on I took all the points, he gave up basically, lost his nerves. In the last 10 seconds he dropped his guard, I winked at him and smiled and waited for the clock to count down, the guy had enough, he had busted his leg, he was hurting waiting for the fight to be over.
I took 1st place hands down.
