KIHON KARATE WALES
WELSH KARATE ASSOCIATION

Welcome to Kihon Karate Wales and the world of Wado-Ryu! From the tender age of 6, Sensei Roger Clark has trained under the guidance and influence of past masters who 'may' have left the worldly bounds of this life, yet has continued to teach the modern student of today the same traditional methods.

There are lots of different wonderful styles of Martial arts to chose from, adopting one to suit your own preference can be difficult since there is much debate about which has the most suitable and more importantly - 'effective form!

Wado-Ryu is structured upon many different ancient forms of Karate, which is why it is considered the most popular choice for beginners and other Martial artist who chose to increase their knowledge in Martial Arts.

Sensei Roger Clark started his journey 27 years ago, studying Kickboxing under the guidance of Mark Valentine and David Roderick. After achieving his 2nd Dan Black Belt in this feild, Roger continued to increase 'his' knowledge of Martial Arts under the expert guidance of Sensei Unel Wellington, the 'President' of the Welsh Karate Association - The most sucessful association in the United Kingdom.
As members of the Welsh Karate associaton, Kihon Karate Wales has been able to triumphantly develope it's Dojo in the best structured and supported organization in the country.

Since opening it's doors in 1993, Kihon Karate Wales has gone from strength to strength and has turned out an array of 'Top quality athletes'. Talented athletes also need skilled coaching and from 2008 Roger was appointed Welsh Wado Coach simply because he has turned out more International Champions than anyone before him. Every student who passes through our doors also has the opportunity to be taught by international representatives from around the world, these courses open the minds of the student and in turn contributes to their learning process.

2009 / 2010 is going to prove highley sucessful for the Welsh Karate Association and all it's 'Skilled International Competitors', as we've been invited by the representative of Japan to take part in the World Wado Championships! A vast number of competitors from all over the world will compete for that one chance to stand on the winning podium.

The preperations and training are already underway, and all Instructors and Officials are confident that the students of Kihon Karate Wales and other clubs within the Welsh Karate Association participating in this prestigous event will succeed in their quest to become World Champions in their field of expertise, whether it be in Kata or kumite or both.
