SCOTT WEST - KIHON'S KARATE KID

2008 was the year that placed fear on the minds of every Martial artist in the competition scene! One young fighter - Scott West aged 12, one of the finest students of Kihon Karate Wales at International level; soared to stardom throughout the year winning an array of medals, Trophies and Titles in the UK and abroad. Scott entered, conquered and walked away triumphantly at every’ competition Kihon entered him in including the European Championships that were held in Romania in October!

Besides the technical ability Scott is able to apply, Scott has inspired so many other Children to take up Martial arts for fun and fitness. Each student who attends kihon karate learns the taste of success and the feeling of achievement, and throughout the year, Kihon observed Scott’s encouraging and motivational abilities, noted that he passes his knowledge on with tenacity and pride ‘an Important part of his grading structure’.

He punctually attended every lesson that was made available to him and followed every Instruction set forth by Sensei Roger Clark which made him one of the most remarkable students Kihon has today! Kihon Karate Wales was delighted to be able to present Scott with the Student of the Year award for his outstanding achievements throughout 2008 in December of 2008. Scott is a pleasure to teach, he’s a lovely approachable little boy who is always eager to learn something new and he does ‘that’ with dedication and Pride.
